After another terrible summer vacation at #4 Privet Drive, Harry Potter feels completely cut off from the wizarding world that he has grown to love. On his 12th birthday, Harry gets an unexpected visit from a house-elf named Dobby. Dobby warns Harry that, should he return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry, a great tragedy should occur.
Despite Dobby's warnings, Harry is eager to return to the one place he truly calls home. After a few amazing weeks at his friend Ron's, Harry sets off for what he expects will be a great year. But once arriving at Hogwarts, Harry has to deal with the obnoxious and self-centered teacher, Gilderoy Lockhart, his arch rival Draco Malfoy, and an annoying first year admirer named Colin Creevey.
The real trouble begins when Harry realizes he can hear a mysterious voice. Shortly afterwords, students are found petrified in the hallway. Someone called the "heir of Slytherin" is determined to drive all of the Muggle-born students out of the school. Everyone is speculating that it is Harry that is behind these attacks. Can Harry summon the courage to solve a mystery from Hogwarts' past and defeat the real culprit before it is too late?
